2024 Registration information

Registration for baseball starts March 1st and ends May 15th

For costs and age descriptions go to https://www.ddmba.net/content/cost-of-baseball-and-division-descriptions

For an explanation of competitive vs. recreational baseball, go to https://www.ddmba.net/content/f-a-q .

Once competitive tryouts are completed mid-May, CHMBA will conduct recreation league player balancing sessions so coaches have a better chance at selecting balanced rec league teams. Although this level of baseball is recreational it is important to have your player attend for balanced teams.

Dates for these sessions will be posted on the website once fields have been arranged.  It is important to provide a proper and legible email address on your registration form if you wish to receive these notifications.

Once recreation teams are selected at the end of May, you will be contacted by the team coach with information about the start of the season.

WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH MY REGISTRATION?

The applicable amount shown on the registration form for each division covers the following:

- Player insurance from BNS
- Free use of team jerseys
- Free use of equipment
- Regular season game umpire fees
- Regular season game field costs
- Free baseball development clinics
- Free house league practice times
- Free House League trophies
- LOTS OF FUN!

Teams may decide to enter tournaments and / or have "team bonding" events. Costs for these are the responsibility of the team.

DDMBA CODE OF CONDUCT

Players and parents should be aware of all DDMBA policies governing everything from proper registration to refunds, NSF cheques and Code of Conduct (including fair play). For complete information go to https://www.ddmba.net/content/policies .

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

In the event families require financial assistance to cover the costs associated with registering your child in minor sport, DDMBA offers links to two programs recognizing this need; https://kidsportcanada.ca/nova-scotia/halifax-regional-municipality/apply-for-a-grant/  and https://www.halifax.ca/parks-recreation/programs-activities/program-registration/funding-access-application may be able to provide the assistance you need. DDMBA has worked very effectively with both of these programs in the past. For more info about each program, click on their links above.
